Celebrating Our Carers for Carers Week

Carers week takes place from 9th -15th June 2025. Carers Week shines a spotlight on caring, highlighting the challenges unpaid carers face, and acknowledging the huge contribution they make.

If you are looking after someone who is unable to manage without your help –  whether it’s a family member, friend or a neighbour please tell your GP Practice about your caring responsibilities, so they can help you look after your own health, provide you additional support, advice and information.

You can find more information about support for carers, and how to register yourself as one with your GP, on our ICS website. Alternatively, there is further information about talking to your GP on the Carers UK website

This Year The Practice has organised a drop-in event on Saturday 14th June from 10am-12pm at our Bushey site. Carers will be receive a mini health check, advice and support to ensure you have access to support you might need. Tea and cake will also be supplied.

Many Carers feel undervalued and unsupported. We believe Carers Week is a vital opportunity for our community to come together and recognise the important contribution carers specifically unpaid carers make to support some of the most vulnerable in our society and raise awareness of social isolation as well as poor mental and physical health.
