Our Team

Schopwick Surgery has experienced team of dedicated health professionals who work together to provide patient centred care to all our patients. Our friendly non-clinical team is equally committed as our clinical team. Find out more about the members of our expert team.

In addition to role of general practitioners, GP partners have additional lead responsibilities for governance compliance, overseeing clinical management, completing insurance, solicitors and third party requests, supervising and mentoring our GP registrars, medical students and allied health professionals.

The Management team oversee day to day running of the Practice, ensuring systems and processes are in place to meet patient needs, dealing with complaints, IT, premises maintenance of both sites and ensure smooth running of the Practice.

Practice Manager

Sheetal works with the GP partners to shape strategic objectives in order to improve the overall care delivered to patients and staff well-being. This includes GP contract compliance, oversee practice operations, targets, HR, finance management, complaints and working with Practice PPG

Operations Manager

Karen assists Sheetal with operational issues required on a day to-day basis, complaints, oversees online triage processes and premises management of both sites.

IT and Projects Lead

Lisa is the IT lead for the practice dealing with all in house IT issues and projects for future IT development at the surgery. Lisa is also our Learning Disabilities admin lead and Nursing Home co-ordinator, working as a key point of contact for all activities, including scheduled health checks, managing vaccination schedules and weekly ward rounds.

Lead Nurse

Michelle leads and develops our nursing team, implement nursing policies and procedures, supervising and mentoring practice nurses, nursing associate and health care assistant. Michelle is our Infection Control lead and does minor illness including prescribing within her scope of competence.

Senior Clinical Pharmacist

Simon is our lead pharmacist overseeing overall prescribing, ensuring local prescribing guidelines are followed and supervising and mentoring in house clinical pharmacists and trainee pharmacists. Simon is prescriber and is also trained in managing minor illnesses and acute medical problems.

Capacity Planning Coordinator

Sarah plans clinical rotas, coordinates leave and works with Sheetal and the Partners to ensure adequate staffing levels available at all times. Additionally she plans medical student time-tables and GP registrar inductions.

Sessional GPs

The Practice employs GPs on a sessional basis. They have booked clinics, do triage, duty doctor cover, home visits, ward rounds and clinical audits where appropriate.

GP Registrars

Doctors training to become GPs are called GP Registrars. GP Registrars are experienced doctors who have 2 years of post qualification experience and have worked in hospitals before.

Allied Health Professionals

We have a team of allied health professionals who are highly medically trained dealing with acute minor illnesses and MSK problems. All are supervised by our GPs.

Nursing Team

Our nursing team includes practice nurses, nursing associates and health care assistants. They offer a range of treatment services including blood tests, immunisations and vaccinations, dressings and long-term condition reviews.

Our patient coordinators are tasked with answering phones, dealing with online PATCHS requests and booking them into appropriate slots as advised by triage team, answer patient queries and assist patients coming to the Practice at front desk.

Medical Secretaries

Our medical secretaries process patient referrals, liaise with community and secondary care regarding queries from GPs and vice versa and answer emails from all external agencies.

Registrations & Insurances

Emma and Deborah process new patient registrations, deal with all insurance, solicitor and third party requests as well as subject access requests for medical records.

Workflow Team

Our workflow team scan hospital and external correspondence, complete data entry and coding to ensure clinicians have access to records as soon as possible.
